Emolene Cream is a kind of moisturizer which is used to treat dry skin. It works by preventing water loss from the outer layer of the skin. This relieves dryness and leaves the skin soft and hydrated.
Emolene Cream is for external use only. Follow the instructions on the product label or as directed by your doctor. Wash your hands thoroughly before and after applying this medicine. Use the medicine regularly to get the most benefit. Avoid applying on open wounds or infected skin. You should not get it in the eyes, mouth, or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
It is generally safe and does not usually cause any side effects. However, if you experience any unusual symptoms while using this medicine, let your doctor know.
It is not likely that other medicines you take by mouth or injection will affect the way it works but talk to your doctor before using it if you have used a similar medicine before and had an allergic reaction.
