Additionally, it is also generally recommended as a supplement for pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Q. How long does Hemozink syrup take to work?If you are taking it for iron deficiency anaemia, you may start feeling better after a few weeks of taking it. In case you are taking it during pregnancy, you may not notice any difference but this does not mean that the dose is not working. Continue taking this medicine for the duration recommended by your doctor.

Folate deficiency can also cause sores inside the mouth and changes in the colour of the skin, hair, or fingernails. The deficiency of iron and folic acid during pregnancy may result in premature or low birth weight baby. Also, it increases the risk of having babies with an underdeveloped brain and spinal cord.

What medicines should not be taken while taking Hemozink Syrup?Medicines that treat indigestion (antacids), bacterial infections (antibiotics like chloramphenicol), and bone problems (like bisphosphonates) can be taken with a minimum gap of two hours. You must consult your doctor if you are supposed to take Hemozink Syrup along with medicines like phenytoin (used to treat epilepsy), methotrexate (used to treat cancer), sulfasalazine (used to treat ulcers), diuretics (used to treat hypertension), metformin (used to treat diabetes) and cimetidine (used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease).
