Product Description

Minilactone Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of congestive heart failure, nephrotic syndrome, ascites associated with liver cirrhosis, and mild and moderate degrees of essential hypertension. It works by reducing the excess fluid levels in the body while maintaining the potassium balance.
 

It is best to take Minilactone Tablet in the morning along with food in order to avoid frequent urination at night time. For better results, it is suggested to take it at the same time every day. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you.

Common side effects of this medicine include dehydration, dryness of mouth, thirst, weakness, lethargy, muscle pains, and low blood pressure. It might lower down the level of calcium, sodium and magnesium in the blood. Hence, regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. It might cause dizziness or tiredness if happens rise slowly from sitting position or avoid driving.

It is generally safe to use during breastfeeding. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any liver or kidney disease or pregnant. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by this medicine.

HOW MINILACTONE TABLET WORKS

Minilactone Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Furosemide and Spironolactone. Furosemide is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also reduces blood pressure and enables heart to pump efficiently. Spironolactone is also a diuretic which conserves potassium, thereby balancing its levels in the body.

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Minilactone Tablet.
Pregnancy
Minilactone Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
Breast Feeding
Minilactone Tablet is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Driving
Minilactone Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
Minilactone Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Minilactone Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Minilactone Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
Minilactone Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Minilactone Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
What if you forget to take Minilactone Tablet
If you miss a dose of Minilactone Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
