View alternate brandPioz-V Tablet is a medicine used to manage blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes mellitus. It helps to improve insulin sensitivity, enhance insulin secretion, and prevent serious complications in people with diabetes.
Pioz-V Tablet may be used by itself or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food. However, take it regularly and at the same time each day to get maximum benefits from it. Your doctor will decide what dose is best for you, and this may change from time to time according to how well it is working. Keep taking this medicine, even if you feel well or your blood sugar levels are controlled because if stopped without consulting the doctor, your blood sugar levels could rise and put you at risk of complications. Remember that this combination medicine is only part of a treatment program and your lifestyle habits also play a big part in controlling diabetes. Eat a healthy diet, do regular exercise, and reduce body weight as advised.
The most common side effects of this medicine include upper respiratory tract infection, headache, muscle pain, sore throat, runny nose, and fever amongst others. Let your doctor know if any of these side effects do not go away or get worse. They may be able to help by adjusting the dosage or by prescribing an alternate medicine.
You should not take Pioz-V Tablet if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis (high levels of acid in your blood), or severe kidney or liver disease. Tell the doctor if you have ever had heart disease, thyroid disease, or some hormonal conditions before taking this medicine as it may not be suitable for you. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised to consult their doctors before taking the medicine. The doctor may also advise regular checkups and tests to monitor your blood sugar levels, blood cell counts, and liver function after starting a treatment with this combination medicine.
Pioz-V Tablet helps improve insulin sensitivity and increases insulin secretion. This dual action helps lower blood sugar levels effectively. Lowering blood sugar levels reduces the risk of serious complications that can be caused by diabetes such as kidney damage, eye damage, nerve problems, and loss of limbs. It also helps reduce the risk of heart disease. Taking this medicine regularly along with proper diet and exercise will help you live a normal, healthy life.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Pioz-V Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Pioz-V Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medications. Pioglitazone primarily acts on muscle, fat, and liver cells to enhance their insulin response, making it easier for these cells to take up glucose from the bloodstream. It also reduces the production of glucose by the liver, which is a common problem in people with type 2 diabetes. Vildagliptin helps increase insulin secretion in response to meals while suppressing the release of glucagon, a hormone that raises blood sugar levels. Therefore, the combined effect of these medicines helps decrease blood glucose levels.
