Anaproct Ointment is a prescription medicine having a combination of medicines that is used to treat anal fissures. It provides relief from redness, swelling and itching. It decreases the pain sensation. It helps in softening the skin.
Anaproct Ointment should be used in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Wash your hands before using this medicine. It is advised to check the label for directions before use. It is for external use only.
Do not use this medicine more than the recommended dose. Inform your doctor if you have known allergies from this medicine. The common side effects of this medicine include burning, irritation, itchiness, and redness at the application site.
If these side effects or any other symptoms which you think are because of this medicine persist for a longer duration, please consult your doctor. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or are suffering from any other disease. This medicine is safe to use in breastfeeding mothers.
Anal fissure is a small tear in the lining of the anus that may occur when you pass hard stools. Anal fissures typically cause pain while passing stools. Anaproct Ointment decreases pain sensation at the affected area and helps in passing the stools easily. It also reduces swelling, redness, itching and irritation in the anal area. It soothes the area and gives relief from burning sensation. Apply Anaproct Ointment as prescribed for faster healing. Make sure to avoid spicy, oil-rich food and take plenty of fibers to aid in digestion and thus prevent hard stools.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them

Anaproct Ointment is a combination of four medicines: Hydrocortisone, Zinc Oxide, Lidocaine, and Allantoin, that helps treat anal fissures . Hydrocortisone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Zinc Oxide has astringent and antiseptic action. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to the brain thereby decreasing pain sensation. Allantoin is a skin protectant that moisturizes and softens the skin.
