View alternate brandLesuride Injection is a medicine used in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems like functional dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, and diabetic gastroparesis. It improves food movement and treats disorders of the stomach and intestines. Lesuride Injection is given as an injection by a doctor or a nurse. It is usually recommended when the patient exhibits severe nausea and vomiting and oral administration is not feasible. It is generally given 2-3 times a day or as recommended by the doctor. Get the injection as many times as the doctor has prescribed and do not stop it suddenly. Once the symptoms subside, you can switch to oral therapy. Some common side effects of this medicine include menstrual disorders, breast enlargement in males, increased prolactin level in the blood, and increased libido. It may also cause drowsiness in some people, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Consult your doctor immediately if there are missed periods, abnormal milk secretion, or changes in sexual desire. They may be able to suggest ways to prevent or reduce the side effects. Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions such as heart disease, history of epilepsy, or gastrointestinal hemorrhage. Let your doctor also know about all the other medicines that you are taking. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before taking this medicine.
Functional dyspepsia is another term for indigestion that is not associated with a specific cause. It may cause symptoms such as an early feeling of fullness after eating, stomach pain or discomfort, nausea, and bloating. Lesuride Injection helps treat these symptoms by increasing the rate of stomach emptying. Some simple lifestyle changes can help stop or reduce these symptoms. Think about what foods trigger your symptoms and try to avoid them; eat smaller, more frequent meals; try to lose weight if you are overweight and try to find ways to relax. Do not eat within 3 to 4 hours of going to bed.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
Lesuride Injection is an atypical antipsychotic. It works by increasing the release of acetylcholine (a chemical messenger). This increases the movement of stomach and intestines, and prevents reflux (acid going up to the food pipe) as well as nausea or vomiting. Since it modulates the motor function of the gastrointestinal tract, it also improves delayed gastric emptying.
