Metrohex Plus Gel is a combination of two medicines used in the treatment of mouth infection. It has antimicrobial action on the infection-causing microorganisms. It inhibits the growth of bacteria and helps in the rapid healing of the infection. Metrohex Plus Gel is strictly advised for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Apply it only on the affected areas of the mouth. It should not be used in excess amount and also avoid swallowing it. In case of accidental contact with your eyes, immediately rinse it off with plenty of water. This medicine is generally safe but it may cause bitter taste and lead to stainings of your teeth, thus avoid using it for a long duration. If you experience any allergic reactions following the use of the medicine, inform your doctor without delay.
Whenever there is an overgrowth of microorganisms in our mouth, that are otherwise normally present, it can lead to unpleasant symptoms of mouth infection like ulcers, bad breath, swollen gums, unpleasant taste changes, sensitivity of teeth to hot or cold food/liquid, etc. Metrohex Plus Gel kills and prevents the growth of these microorganisms, thereby relieving these symptoms. Practice good oral hygiene like brushing twice daily and rinsing with antiseptic mouth wash 2-3 times a day to avoid mouth infections in the future.
Most side effects do not require any medical attention and disappear as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if they persist or if you’re worried about them
Check the label for directions before use. Gently apply the gel to the affected area inside your mouth. Refrain from eating or drinking immediately after applying the gel.
Metrohex Plus Gel is a combination of two medicines: Chlorhexidine Gluconate and Metronidazole. Chlorhexidine Gluconate is an antiseptic and disinfectant.
