SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE is a medication used for managing the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH or enlared prostate) such as frequent urination, weak urine stream, difficulty starting urination, incomplete bladder emptying, urgency to urinate, straining to urinate or dribbling after urination in adults.
SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE is advised to take it in a dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It should be taken with food, but take at the same time regularly. Swallow the medicine as a whole without crushing or chewing it. You should not stop taking the medicine without consulting the doctor as it may lead to the worsening of your symptoms. The course of the treatment should be completed for better efficacy of the medicine.
Before receiving SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you are on any medication for any other health condition. If you have to undergo eye surgery due to cataracts or glaucoma then inform your eye doctor about the usage of this medicine. Patients with liver or kidney disease must be cautious while taking SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE and they must receive regular follow-ups as per the doctor’s advice. SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE is not recommended for use in women, children, or adolescents under 18 years of age.
Some common side effects of this medicine are dizziness, headache, fatigue, low blood pressure (especially when standing up), abnormal ejaculation, blocked or runny nose and retrograde ejaculation. If any of the side effects persist or bother you, you must consult the doctor without delay.
Simple lifestyle changes can help you manage your symptoms better. Try to urinate as soon as you feel the urge, however, never strain or push to empty your bladder. You should avoid drinking caffeinated or alcoholic drinks at night and a few hours before going to bed or going out.
In BPH, an enlarged prostate can lead to urinary issues such as frequent urination, weak urine stream, difficulty in urination, incomplete bladder emptying, etc. If left untreated, there is a risk of complete urinary blockage. SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate, which helps to quickly relieve these symptoms and makes urination easier. To achieve the best results, take this medicine exactly as prescribed.
SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE contains an active ingredient called silodosin which works by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. This enzyme typically converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which leads to prostate enlargement. By blocking this enzyme, silodosin reduces DHT production, resulting in a decrease in prostate size and alleviating urinary symptoms associated with BPH.
If you miss a dose of SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE it may cause symptoms such as low blood pressure (hypotension), abnormal heart rhythms or tachycardia, severe dizziness, nausea and vomiting, weakness. consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
Like all medicines, SILOFAST 8 CAPSULE may cause certain side effects in some individuals, although not everybody gets them.
